What Is The Difference Between Lace Closure & Lace Frontals?

A lot of people ask us, "What is the difference between a lace closure and a lace frontal?" These two similar yet different hair pieces provides a natural hair look when professionally applied. These small bundles of miracles allows you to have a totally cohesive look when installing extensions or when having a custom wig made. The question is, which one is right for you?

What Is A Lace Closure?

A lace closure tends to be 4in x 4in or 5in x 5in. Wherever you decide to place your part, it will be four inches back, the lace front hairline is about four inches across. This is generally less expensive than the frontal, due to it using less material. This can be installed with lace glue adhesive (available at beauty supply stores across the world and online), lace frontal tape, (also available in beauty supply stores and online),and can be sewn on using thread and a hook needle. Lace closures are great for cohesive natural looks and can be used in protective hairstyles.

What is a Lace Frontal?

Lace frontals are wider than lace closures, they start at 7in x 4in and can go up 13in x 4 in or 13in x 5in which covers the hairline ear to ear. Lace frontals, allow for more styling options and covers more of your natural hairline than lace closures. Though, lace frontals can be installed the same, they may need more customization besides plucking and bleaching. For example, if you purchase a lace frontal that is slightly too wide for your hairline, it needs to be carefully trimmed, without ruining the lace and wasting your money. We suggest you find a professional that has experience with lace frontals to assist with installation. Be sure to measure your forehead, this will help you decide what width best suites you when purchasing a lace frontal.

I bet you are wondering which is better, neither is better or worse it just depends on your needs. Do you want more coverage, are you the type that prefer less hair on your head, is your budget a factor? Ask yourself these questions prior to purchase.
