Keeping your wigs clean is important not just to reduce the spread of bacteria throughout your wig collection, but it treats, conditions, and maintains the hair and the structure of the wig cap.
Depending on how often you wear your wig will determine how often you should wash it. If you wear your wig daily, I recommend cleansing and conditioning it every 10-14 days. Think about it, if you wear your wig on a regular basis, it is exposed to bacteria regularly. Bacteria can cause breakouts to your face and cause your wig to have an unpleasant odor. Besides you don’t want your wig to act as a haven for germs. If you are wearing a lace front wig the product you may use to customize your style will build up and weigh the hair down making your wig appear thin and greasy. But, if you wear your wig here and there, washing it every 1-2 months is perfectly acceptable.
